"How Do I Keep My Vibration High Amongst the Bombardment of ‘Stuff’ Around Me?"

Recently, a reader sent a powerful question that resonates with so many of us:

“How do I keep my vibration high amongst the bombardment of ‘stuff’ around me, in everyday relationships, my neighborhood, and the world at large?”

This question struck a deep chord because it does feel like we're getting bombarded with more "stuff" than ever before.

Staying aligned with our highest vibration can feel like a monumental task in a world filled with distractions, emotional turbulence, and energetic challenges.

But the truth is, there's a lot you can do to maintain your vibration and protect your peace amidst all the chaos, even if you're not an enlightened guru yet.

Inspired by this question, I’ve compiled 12 actionable steps to help you stay grounded, centered, and empowered in your daily life.

1. Acknowledge the Energetic Challenges Around You

The world is full of competing energies.

Some are uplifting. Others can be very draining.

Every day, you encounter situations, people, and environments that can test your equilibrium.

It’s tempting to blame external circumstances for how you feel, but acknowledging these challenges isn’t about pointing fingers.

It’s about seeing things clearly and taking ownership of your response.

This might manifest in daily life in the emotional challenges of relationships, the noise in your environment, or the overwhelming cycle of news and social media bombardments.

Such factors may feel very overwhelming, but acknowledging them as they are allows you to step out of automatic reactions and into conscious awareness.

Awareness creates choice.

When you recognize these challenges, you can decide when and how to address them or disengage from them.

This is the first step in reclaiming your energy and creating a sanctuary within yourself.

2. Become Aware of Your Energy Shifts

Your energy doesn’t stay constant throughout the day.

It shifts all the time in response to emotions, interactions, activities, and even thoughts.

Start by observing these fluctuations without judgment.

Notice how your body, emotions, and mind feel after specific experiences.

Do you feel drained after a conversation with a particular person?

Do you feel overwhelmed by the energy of certain places?

Do some news stories or world events leave you feeling anxious or helpless?

Do you find yourself carrying other people’s emotions as if they were your own?

Awareness is a practice.

By tuning into your energy patterns, you can identify what uplifts you and what depletes you.

This doesn’t mean you have to avoid everything challenging.

It’s about creating balance and making intentional choices about where you invest your time and energy.

Over time, you’ll begin to notice subtler shifts, and your awareness becomes a compass.

Let it guide you toward what truly nourishes your spirit.

3. Build a Strong Foundation with Frequent Grounding

Grounding connects you to the Earth’s stabilizing energy, acting as an anchor amidst life’s turbulence.

Think of it as a reset button for your nervous system.

When you’re grounded, you’re less likely to be swayed by external chaos, and your inner world becomes a place of calm strength.

Frequent grounding doesn’t require elaborate rituals.

Walking barefoot, focusing on your breath, or immersing yourself in the present moment and connecting with Mother Earth are simple yet effective practices.

These moments of connection can remind you that you’re supported by something greater than what you perceive as yourself.

Make grounding a habit, especially during times of stress or worry.

Each time you ground yourself, you’re building a reservoir of resilience that strengthens your ability to maintain a high vibration no matter what comes your way.

4. Strengthen Your Energetic Boundaries

Your energy field is your sacred space, and it’s up to you to protect it.

Firm boundaries don’t mean shutting the world out.

They mean consciously deciding what you allow in.

Without boundaries, it’s easy to absorb negativity from people, environments, or even your own thoughts.

Energy leeches, bullies, and narcissists instinctively recognize a lack of boundaries and try to play their games.

Start each day by setting a clear intention to protect your energy and your boundaries.

Even if you have only one minute in the morning, you can do this:

  1. Take three deep breaths.
  2. Thank Archangel Michael (or another deity you believe in) for surrounding your body and energy field with his cocoon of protection for the entire day. Visualize the cocoon in your color(s) of preference (see below).
  3. Thank Him for using his mighty sword to cut through any energies that are attached to which are holding you back. Visualize everything dropping from your energy field that does not serve your highest purpose.

You can use a white bubble for general protection, a violet bubble for spiritual protection from psychic attacks, a blue bubble for increased communication and clarity, a pink bubble for romance, and a green bubble for healing.

If you wish, you can even layer the colors!

This simple practice acts as a shield, reinforcing your energetic sovereignty.

Remember, protecting your energy isn’t selfish.

It’s essential for maintaining your vibration and showing up as your best self.

5. Ask for Support from Your Spirit Guides, Angels and Ancestors

Your spirit guides are your greatest allies in maintaining a high vibration.

They are always ready to help, but their assistance requires your conscious invitation.

Connecting with them regularly strengthens your bond and ensures their guidance flows into your life.

In the morning, if you have more time after the prayers and visualizations from the last step, take a few moments to ask your guides for support and protection.

Invite them to walk with you, help shield your energy, and distinguish what to let in.

Call on them to help you be aware of your boundaries and maintain them.

Tell them what situations you'll need help with today.

Whether through a prayer, an affirmation, or a silent request, their assistance creates an added layer of protection.

Trust that their guidance is always aligned with your highest good, even if it doesn’t always arrive in the form you expect.

6. Choose Your Inputs Radically

The information, media, and conversations you engage in directly affect your vibration.

Imagine your energy as a sponge…

What are you soaking up each day?

Are you filling yourself with inspiration and light, or are you absorbing negativity and fear?

Radical input selection means setting firm boundaries on what you consume.

Limit exposure to news that focuses solely on distressing events.

Reduce the time spent scrolling aimlessly through social media or flipping through TV channels, which breeds anxiety.

Instead, make your social media feeds inspiring by choosing wisely whom to follow.

Seek out uplifting books, music, and discussions that inspire growth and joy.

Spend time in nature, listen to its sounds, and stay in the present moment.

Choosing your inputs radically is a vital act of self-care!

It’s not about ignoring reality but about curating your environment to prioritize your mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

7. Develop an Energy-Cleansing Routine

Even with firm boundaries, life’s energies can cling to you.

Regular cleansing practices help release this energetic residue, ensuring that you stay light and free.

Rituals like smudging with sage, palo santo, or incense clear stagnant energy from your space.

A salt bath detoxifies your aura and relaxes your body, while sound healing with singing bowls or chimes can shift your frequency instantly.

Consider incorporating crystals into your practice, especially clear quartz, known for its powerful cleansing and amplifying properties.

Holding or meditating with clear quartz can help clear negative energy, restore balance, and raise your vibration.

Cleansing isn’t just about removing negativity.

It’s about reconnecting with your true essence.

Make it a regular part of your routine to maintain clarity, alignment, and a high vibration.

8. Nurture Your Inner World

Your inner world is the foundation of your external reality.

Nurturing your inner world starts with cultivating a practice of self-awareness.

Take time to notice your thoughts, feelings, and physical sensations without judgment.

This practice allows you to identify what nourishes your soul and what depletes it.

Journaling, meditation, or simply sitting in silence can be powerful tools for exploring and reconnecting with your inner self.

Another way to strengthen this connection is by creating a sacred space in your physical environment, an area in your outer world dedicated to nurturing your inner world.

This could be a small altar, a cozy corner, or your favorite place in nature.

By making it a habit to return to this sacred space regularly, you not only create a supportive environment but also anchor positive energy patterns that deepen your practice.

Lastly, prioritize activities that bring you joy and replenish your energy.

These moments act as anchors, grounding you in your truth.

The more you nurture your inner world, the stronger your ability to remain resilient in the face of outer "bombardments."

9. Balance Compassion with Assertiveness

Relationships and interactions can be one of the biggest challenges to maintaining a high vibration.

Compassion is a powerful tool for responding to others with kindness and understanding, but embracing compassion doesn’t mean allowing others to overstep your boundaries and trample all over you.

Being assertive and protecting your energy is crucial.

When faced with conflict or negativity, take a moment to pause and assess the situation.

Compassion can help you see where the other person is coming from, allowing you to respond rather than react.

However, if someone’s actions are harmful or disrespectful, it’s crucial to stand your ground.

Defending yourself and asserting your needs when necessary is not only healthy but also honors your energy.

It's not an act of aggression. It’s an act of respect towards yourself and others.

Balance is key.

There are times to extend empathy and diffuse tension with understanding, and there are times to say, “No, this is not okay.”

Knowing when to be compassionate and when to assert yourself comes from tuning into your own needs and energy.

Self-respect and kindness are not mutually exclusive.

You can embody both, offering grace to others while staying true to yourself.

By honoring your boundaries and your kindness, you maintain your vibration without being drawn into unnecessary conflicts.

10. Gratitude: Your Key to Higher Vibrations

Gratitude is one of the simplest yet most profound practices for raising your vibration.

It shifts your focus from what is lacking to what is abundant, helping you align with the energy of love and appreciation.

This shift isn’t just emotional.

It’s energetic, creating a ripple effect that impacts your mood, thoughts, and interactions, as well as those around you.

Cultivating gratitude starts with small, intentional moments.

Take a few minutes to reflect on what you’re thankful for, whether it’s the support of loved ones, a stranger who smiled at you, the beauty of nature, or even the challenges that have taught you more resilience.

In our modern world, we tend to take simple things like having a roof over our heads and food on our tables for granted, forgetting to acknowledge them with gratitude.

Writing such reflections in a journal can make the practice even more powerful and deepen your awareness of the good in your life.

Gratitude isn’t about ignoring difficulties or pretending everything is perfect.

It’s about acknowledging the blessings that exist alongside the challenges.

By focusing on what you're grateful for, you naturally attract more of it into your life, reinforcing a cycle of rising vibrations.

11. Surround Yourself With Supportive Energies

The energy around you has a profound impact on your vibration, so it's essential to surround yourself with positive influences.

This includes the people you interact with, the spaces you inhabit, and the tools you use to enhance your energy.

All of these elements play a key role in either uplifting or draining your energy and vibration.

Choose to spend time with individuals who inspire and support you rather than those who consistently bring negativity or criticism. Even brief moments with uplifting people can recharge your energy!

If certain relationships are unavoidable, set boundaries and limit exposure as possible and required to preserve your peace.

If interacting with others feels difficult, know that you’re not alone. Many like-minded souls are seeking connection just as you are.

Online communities, like our Facebook group, can be a wonderful place to find support, encouragement, and understanding.

Your environment is equally important.

Make your entire home your sacred space, and fill it with items that bring you comfort, joy, and connection.

Consider adding tools like essential oils, calming music, or incense to amplify the energy of your surroundings.

By consciously shaping your environment and connections, you strengthen your foundation for maintaining your vibration.

12. Surrender What You Can’t Control

Not everything in our life is within our power to change, and trying to control external chaos often leads to frustration and energy drain.

Surrender doesn’t mean giving up—it means letting go of resistance and trusting in the flow of life.

It’s a practice of releasing attachment to specific outcomes and embracing the unknown with faith and openness.

When faced with difficulties outside your control, take a moment to breathe and reflect.

What can you influence, and what must you accept?

By focusing on what is within your power, you conserve your energy for meaningful action rather than futile resistance.

Acceptance is not resignation.

Do you relate to this quote by Eckhart Tolle as much as I do in this context?

"Accept - then act. Whatever the present moment contains, accept it as if you had chosen it. Always work with it, not against it. Make it your friend and ally, not your enemy. This will miraculously transform your whole life."

Surrendering also means trusting that things will unfold as they are meant to, even if the path isn’t immediately apparent.

This trust frees you from the weight of trying to control everything and allows your vibration to rise naturally.

When you let go with grace, you open the door to unexpected possibilities and align yourself with the flow of life.

Keeping your vibration high in a chaotic world is both a challenge and a gift.

With these practices, you can rise above the “stuff” and let your light shine brightly, inspiring others to do the same!
